Though they're well-known for their fairly obstinate character, westie training may not be as difficult as training aggressive dog breeds such as Pitbulls and Rottweillers. This small breed with distinctive white coat actually likes companionship. Evidence to that is their inclination to get along well with people and being pleasant even to strangers. But despite their wonderful qualities, training is undeniably called for to help them develop into lovable small dogs everyone hopes to have.
So why is training important if this breed is well-known for being naturally well-behaved? Undoubtedly, there is more than just one reason why appropriate westie training ought to be done sooner rather than later.
1. Ensure safety.
Training your pet never to bite, jump on people or run after vehicles and passersby is one method to maintain the safety of everyone around including the pet. A dog that has biting problems may cause injuries while a dog that jumps on people may knock your young child down. On the other hand, a dog that has developed the habit of going after cars is at risk of being hit by cars, being taken away or unable to find its way home. A dog that's not able to experience these lessons is more likely to result in damage or chaos on what is supposed to be a safe and comfortable haven for you and your family.

Excessive treats and fancy toys aren't the only things that can bring happiness to a dog. Appropriate care, training together with love are what a dog requires to be able to grow healthy and happy.
